SETTING THE SCENE | Wedding furniture quietly deci

SETTING THE SCENE | Wedding furniture quietly decides where guests gather, where conversations begin, and where people pause between the big moments.
ㅤ
That is where @lauriekohrswedding brings practical value to a wedding setting.
ㅤ
Based in Nottingham Road in the KZN Midlands, Laurie offers contemporary and elegant furniture hire for weddings, private functions and corporate events. Her collection is designed for the parts of a celebration that guests may not always notice immediately, but absolutely feel: the places to sit, rest, chat, enjoy a drink, warm up, cool down or step away from the dance floor.
ㅤ
The range includes couches, occasional chairs, ottomans, cubes, beanbags, coffee and side tables, cocktail tables, harvest tables and more. These pieces can create outdoor lounges on the lawn, fireside seating, canapé spaces, dessert or coffee stations, and comfortable spots for older guests who may need somewhere quieter before or after the meal.
ㅤ
Laurie also offers practical additions such as sun umbrellas, gas heaters and fire braziers, especially useful for Midlands weddings where the weather can change quickly. It is furniture hire that considers both the look of the day and how guests will move through, use and enjoy the space.
ㅤ
What makes Laurie’s service stand out is her hands-on, helpful approach. With more than 35 years in national and international sales, she believes in “holding the customer’s hand”, and that warmth comes through in the way she works with couples, planners and event teams. Her furniture is known for arriving clean, well presented and ready to use, with service clients describe as organised, efficient and a pleasure to deal with.
ㅤ
For couples and planners wanting wedding furniture that feels stylish without forgetting comfort, Laurie Kohrs Furniture Hire helps create the spaces between the formal moments: places for conversation, connection, rest and ease throughout the celebration.

SETTING THE SCENE | @labolasa is for couples who want florals, décor and coordination with personality: a creative team that can bring fresh ideas to a space while keeping the wedding day beautifully under control.
ㅤ
Led by Gabs, Labola’s work has a lively, expressive quality. Gabs is known for thinking beyond the obvious, enjoying the challenge of a new space and finding a fresh way to interpret it. Whether the brief leans towards wild, tumbling florals, sleek modern styling, or something between the two, Labola looks at the venue, the couple and the budget before bringing the pieces together.
ㅤ
Florals are a big part of that. Labola works with flowers across many budgets, from simple table accents to lavish suspended installations, giving each design the same care and creative attention.
ㅤ
Décor, styling and stationery are part of the same picture. Labola has collected and sourced hiring pieces that are a little different from the norm, while invitations, welcome boards, menus and more can be brought into the look too.
ㅤ
Then there is the coordination side. Labola’s on-the-day service begin a month before the wedding, when the team gathers supplier details, asks the right questions and builds a schedule for the flow of the day. On the day itself, they step in as honorary Maids of Honour, keeping everything moving so the couple can stay present.
ㅤ
Client feedback captures both the creativity and the calm. One couple planning from abroad said, “We didn’t know where to start and from the get-go Labola humoured our ever-changing style and direction whilst maintaining professionalism.” Others speak about breathtaking setup, beautiful flowers, incredible décor, and a team that is patient, accommodating and kind.
ㅤ
For couples wanting fresh ideas, expressive florals, distinctive details and a team that can keep the day feeling fun and organised, Labola brings 12+ years of creativity and coordination to the wedding setting.

SETTING THE SCENE | A wedding look often begins as a feeling: a colour, a texture, a place, a mood, a detail that keeps coming back to you. @emilylockhartweddings helps turn that feeling into something beautifully planned, carefully sourced and brought together on the day.
ㅤ
Based in KZN Emily offers wedding coordination, floral design, styling, décor hire and bespoke event support for couples who want their celebration to feel elegant, imaginative and true to them.
ㅤ
Raised on a farm in the Southern Drakensberg, Emily grew up with nature, open spaces and wonder. After travelling the world, she brought her craft back to KZN, where her work carries classic beauty, unusual detail and enough whimsy to make a celebration feel personal.
ㅤ
Her strength lies in seeing how the pieces belong together: flowers, hired items, table details, décor, suppliers, timing and flow. Emily brings a creative eye to the look of the day, and the planning mind needed to make it happen calmly.
ㅤ
Her floral design adds sight, scent and texture to the setting, from opulent baroque-style flowers to fresh country blooms. Each design is personal, turning ideas and preferences into something tangible, expressive and beautiful.
ㅤ
If a couple has a mood board or dream detail that needs the right piece or person behind it, Emily knows how to look beyond the obvious and bring the best elements together.
ㅤ
Client feedback speaks about dream flowers, stunning venues, a can-do attitude, positivity and calmness, even during a farm wedding setup with rain in the mix.
ㅤ
For couples wanting a wedding that feels elegant but not expected, imaginative but still refined, Emily Lockhart Weddings brings florals, styling, coordination and creative detail into one cohesive celebration.

SETTING THE SCENE | A crystal chandelier can draw the eye upward. Fairy lights can make a ceiling feel softer. Festoon lighting can bring warmth to an outdoor space. Draping can help soften edges or connect the lighting to the venue’s colour palette.
ㅤ
These are not just finishing touches. They change how a wedding space feels.
ㅤ
Based in the KZN Midlands, @draperite is a family-owned eventing company specialising in lighting and draping services for the wedding industry. Their work is especially useful for couples who want to add glow, height and visual impact to a ceremony or reception space, without having to manage the technical side themselves.
ㅤ
One of Draperite’s standout offerings is their range of spectacular statement chandeliers available for hire in the KZN area. Whether used above a dance floor, dining area, ceremony space or marquee-style setting, chandeliers bring a sense of occasion and can help anchor the room beautifully.
ㅤ
Their lighting offering also includes fairy lights, festoon lighting and other elements that can bring softness and ambience to different wedding settings. Draping is available as part of the service too, helping to soften a venue, complement existing décor, or bring the lighting and colour palette together.
ㅤ
The Draperite team works with couples or wedding planners to consider the venue, theme, colours and existing décor before recommending the right combination of lighting and draping elements. They also handle installation, setup and breakdown, which is a major part of the value they bring on the day.
ㅤ
Client feedback speaks to the kind of team they are to work with: friendly, experienced, and willing to go the extra mile to achieve a beautiful result.

SETTING THE SCENE | A wedding space is made up of

SETTING THE SCENE | A wedding space is made up of many moving parts: flowers, furniture, tableware, ceremony details, reception flow, colour, texture and feeling.
ㅤ
In Carolyn Hall’s hands, those parts begin to speak the same language.
ㅤ
Based in KwaZulu-Natal, @adore_weddings offers wedding planning, styling, floral design and curated furniture and décor hire, led by Carolyn as planner, floral designer and stylist.
ㅤ
Her work is not simply about making a space look beautiful. It is about curating a visual story and sensory experience connected to the couple, the setting and the celebration they want to share.
ㅤ
Carolyn’s floral work has a signature of its own: romantic, abundant, natural and full of movement. With a background in ballet and contemporary dance, she brings an artist’s understanding of line, depth and space to her arrangements. Her flowers feel alive rather than forced.
ㅤ
There is also a grounded, farm-girl instinct in the way she works, with inspiration drawn from grasses, berries, leaves, texture and the natural world, alongside responsible sourcing and quality product from field to vase.
ㅤ
The personal references in her work can be beautifully specific: fever trees for a Kenyan farm girl marrying far from home, white butterflies in honour of a mother no longer there, or a wild chapel aisle reflecting the groom’s history and the bride’s wilder spirit.
Adore’s services include bespoke floral design and décor, full wedding planning, styling and concept, on-the-day coordination, and curated furniture and tableware.
ㅤ
Brides describe Carolyn as calm, kind, joyful, passionate and professional.
ㅤ
For couples wanting a wedding environment that feels romantic, refined, personal and expertly brought together, Adore Weddings offers floral artistry, design intelligence and steady planning support.

ALL DRESSED UP | For some brides, the veil is the final detail. For Lara of @veil_atelier, it is often the piece that makes the whole bridal look suddenly make sense.
ㅤ
A veil is never just about adding fabric. It changes movement, frames the face, shifts the mood of the dress, and can soften, sharpen or completely reframe the way a bride sees herself.
ㅤ
Choosing one, though, can feel surprisingly daunting. Many brides do not know where to start. Others have always thought, “I’m not really a veil girl,” until the right idea changes everything.
ㅤ
Veil Atelier was created for brides who want to reimagine tradition rather than follow it blindly. Based in South Africa, Lara handcrafts veils for women who care about feeling something, not just wearing something. Her work is for brides with a strong sense of self, whether that means something quietly emotional, couture-inspired, boldly coloured or deeply personal.
ㅤ
Every veil is designed, cut and finished by hand in studio, using fine tulle, trims and finishes with traditional and couture-inspired techniques. Nothing is mass-produced, no two veils are exactly the same, and Lara takes on a limited number of brides each month so each piece gets the time and attention it deserves.
ㅤ
The reviews say a great deal. Brides speak about feeling heard, seen and gently guided through the process, with calm communication and real care. One bride said she had not been interested in a veil before meeting Lara, but it became the most exciting part of her wedding outfit.
ㅤ
Brides can browse ready-to-ship and ready-to-order veils, use the quick quote tool for a custom estimate, or book a full custom consultation for something designed one-to-one.
ㅤ
For brides wanting a veil that does more than finish the outfit, Veil Atelier is a remarkable place to begin: personal, artful, unforgettable and completely her own.

ALL DRESSED UP | Your wedding dress may look fine

ALL DRESSED UP | Your wedding dress may look fine when you hang it up after the celebration, but wedding-day stains are not always as innocent as they seem.
ㅤ
After hours of photos, hugs, dancing and outdoor moments, most gowns collect something: dust along the hemline, grass or mud, make-up, sweat, perfume, champagne, wine or food spills. Some marks show straight away. Others hide in the fabric and only begin to yellow or darken months later.
ㅤ
Many brides plan to clean their dress “later”, but waiting too long can allow stains to set permanently into delicate fabrics like lace, silk or tulle.
ㅤ
That is where @thedresseditsa comes in. Specialising in professional cleaning, refresh, restoration and preservation for wedding dresses, veils, suits and delicate occasion garments, their team cares for pieces that need more than standard dry cleaning.
ㅤ
Wedding dresses often include lace, beading, embroidery, boning, layers and couture detail. The wrong process can damage a gown permanently, so specialist treatment matters. The Dress Edit uses gentle techniques designed for bridal garments, treating each piece while protecting the fabric and detail.
ㅤ
Their services include pre- and post-wedding dress cleaning, veil and suit care, stain removal, dress refresh, restoration and bridal gown preservation boxes, helping guard against light, dust, moisture and environmental exposure.
ㅤ
They also support boutiques, rental businesses and brides choosing preloved or second-hand gowns, helping garments feel fresh and ready to be loved again.
ㅤ
Reviews speak warmly about professionalism and attention to detail, with one bride saying The Dress Edit exceeded expectations on her wedding dress and veil.
ㅤ
For anyone wanting to clean, refresh, restore or preserve a wedding garment, The Dress Edit will handle it beautifully.
