Pan Latino is a four piece acoustic outfit available for weddings, business functions, birthdays and festivals. They have an upbeat, ethnic, Latino sound with a predominantly Spanish flavour and their live performances are always warmly received by their audiences. The band plays some of The Gypsy Kings material as well as other well-known Latino numbers and they have plenty of their own original tunes of which their repertoire is mostly comprised.
Band leader, Kech Sanchez, is native to Bolivia and he plays an array of traditional instruments including pan pipes, wooden flutes, charangito (a traditional, South American type of lute) as well as nylon string guitar and vocals. Daniel Rossouw plays exciting and catchy acoustic lead guitar melodies. Chris Melling holds the beat on a variety of percussion instruments and Abbo Hall plays the Latino bass grooves and sings backing vocals.
The band has existed for fifteen years in various formats. They can play for two hours or more over two or three sets.
