Each celebration in your life up till now has included a cake. It is the ultimate celebration companion; birthdays, graduations, engagement party, bridal shower and now Wedding. At Simply Dun my focus is on the most important aspect of a cake, ultimately the taste as well as the aesthetic.

Cake trends are ever changing, we’ve seen the naked cakes, the rectangle cakes, the cupcakes, the vintage cakes, the minimalist cakes, the colourful cakes, the cheese cakes. The list is endless, which makes it an amazing tool to showcase you as a couple and the overall personality of the wedding you want to create, one that will live for a lifetime in your memories.

A wedding cake is a deeply personal choice which means it is not a one size fits all. I love for a couple to give me some inspiration on what their vision is and allow me to create this for them in the form of edible art. Everything is possible, so please let me know if there is something specific you are looking for when it comes to flavour, icing or the decorative approach.

I am based in Pietermaritzburg and I generally supply cakes through the KZN Midlands and surrounds (the ultimate wedding destination). I am a meticulous cake artist and I adjust my setup according to the requirements of the cake at hand. If this means assembling a four tier cake on site on the morning of the wedding, I am happy to do so. I take into consideration the venue, the time of year, the potential weather, where the cake is to be displayed as well as when it will be cut. Similarly, if you are wanting a smaller, simpler cake option then I am open to providing whatever it is that you envision.
