That is where Kaitlyn Holder of @kait_hairstylist brings a very valuable kind of experience. Based in Pietermaritzburg, Kaitlyn has spent 18 years in the hair industry, building a career across salon work, bridal styling, styled shoots, and the film and commercial world.

Her background gives her a strong technical foundation. In the salon, she works across precision cuts, nourishing treatments, blow-waves, highlights, and full colour transformations. In film and commercial styling, she has worked with period hairstyles, wigs, and camera-ready looks created to help characters feel believable and complete.

THE WRITE STYLE | A traditional guest book is something you sign and close. @fingerprinttreesza turns that moment into something far more alive.

Created by artist Leonor Tubb, each piece begins as a hand-sketched tree illustration and changes throughout the wedding itself, slowly filling with guests’ fingerprints until the branches are no longer bare. By the end of the celebration, what started as an ink illustration has become an artistic record of the people who stood around your marriage at its very beginning.

That sense of transformation is part of what makes the concept so moving. Guests do not simply leave a name behind and walk away. They take part in building the keepsake, adding colour and presence to the artwork as the day unfolds. Children and grandparents can join in just as easily, which gives the piece a warmth that many traditional guest books never quite reach.

There is also real artistic depth behind the idea. Leonor is a fine arts graduate and professional ink sketch illustrator whose love of trees and nature sits at the centre of her work. Each design starts with a print of her original drawing, and her artist’s hand gives the finished piece a very different quality to something novelty-led or mass-produced.

THE WRITE STYLE | Wedding stationery is often where a celebration first becomes visible. Before the flowers, the tables, or the outfit are fully imagined, there is usually a save-the-date card and an invitation. That is what gives Lara Roets of @aurora.designs01 such an important role in the process.

With more than a decade of experience in graphic design and advertising, Lara brings strong design grounding to her stationery work. She is not tied to one aesthetic lane. Whether a couple wants something understated, expressive, romantic, or highly detailed, she knows how to take their ideas and turn them into something clear, cohesive, and well resolved.

Client feedback says a great deal. Couples describe someone who listens carefully, stays patient through changes, and knows how to make sense of a lot of input without losing the thread. One client said Lara took their “100 ideas” and exceeded expectations. Another said she understood a brief they had barely managed to articulate themselves.

Tucked away on the KZN South Coast and overlooking the spectacular Umtamvuna Gorge is @clearwater_farm_venue. It’s one of those places that makes you stop and say, “𝑾𝒂𝒊𝒕... 𝒘𝒉𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒏'𝒕 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔?”

For this shoot, we wanted to capture that sense of wild, sweeping romance, pairing the drama of the gorge with a refined celebration.

In today’s first look, I wanted to give a very big shout-out to the small but mighty team who made the magic happen.

🌿 Ro @thefloralteam had a specific vision for a grass-inspired bouquet and tablescape. I never knew shredded greenery could look this sensational!

✉️ Claudia from @willowandmistdesign brought her signature clean lines, clever font pairings and beautiful use of shape & layering.

💄 Fairy glam mother Tam @promakeupdbn made our gorgeous bride even more gorgeous while holding bouquets, fluffing veils & sliding in bobby pins. Basically a black-belt-level bridal juggling act.

👗 There's always something gorgeous coming out of @melizamarybridal, but this dress was a firm favourite with every girl on our team.

🤵 A more reliable, organised suit-hire team you could not hope to find. Claire and the @suitupsuithire team made sure James looked every bit the part.
