Celebrating Five Years of Wedding Planning Magic

A SOLD-OUT CELEBRATION OF LOVE, INSPIRATION AND CONNECTION
The fifth edition of Love on the Lawn proved to be our biggest and most exciting showcase yet! Hosted at the beautiful Sweethome, this milestone event welcomed a sold-out crowd of engaged couples, family members, and wedding enthusiasts who spent the day immersed in inspiration, expert advice, and unforgettable experiences.
What began five years ago as a vision to connect couples with KwaZulu-Natal’s finest wedding professionals has grown into one of the province’s most anticipated wedding planning events. From the moment guests arrived until the final prize draw, the atmosphere was filled with excitement, creativity, and the promise of beautiful celebrations to come.

Bringing wedding dreams to life
Love on the Lawn has always been about more than simply meeting suppliers. It is about creating meaningful connections between couples and the talented professionals who will help bring their wedding vision to life.
Guests had the opportunity to engage with an incredible variety of exhibitors, ranging from venues and photographers to legal professionals, florists, bridal boutiques, stylists, and beauty experts. Throughout the day, conversations flowed freely as couples gathered advice, discovered new ideas, and found trusted professionals to join their wedding planning journey.
Every corner of the showcase offered inspiration, making it easy to imagine the possibilities for a truly memorable wedding day.

A showcase of exceptional hospitality
A special mention must go to the incredible team of suppliers who helped create such a welcoming and enjoyable experience for every guest.
Our host venue, Sweethome, provided the perfect setting for the day, with its beautiful grounds and relaxed atmosphere creating an idyllic backdrop for the showcase.
Guests and suppliers alike were wonderfully catered for by Hamblins Catering, who generously ensured that everyone remained well fed throughout the event. Caffé Giordano kept the coffee flowing with complimentary coffees for all attendees, while Sugar Baron Distillery welcomed guests with delicious complimentary gin cocktails that set the tone for a memorable day. Sweet treats were provided by Dough Girl, whose dessert can tastings proved to be a firm favourite among visitors.
Muirhead's Hiring transformed the venue with beautiful floral installations, and draped and fairy-lit the main hall and chapel which only amplified the magic of the day. They also supplied all exhibitor furniture and lounge pods for every toosh that needed a rest! The Floral Team provided beautiful floral arrangements for our welcome desk and photo opportunities around the venue. Infrastructure magicians were non-other than MRent Events, Midlands Stretch Tents, and Draperite who supplied beautiful pagodas, stretch tents and chandeliers to ensure everyone was well covered and illuminated!
Irene’s Models brought elegance and energy to the day, modelling the wedding attire to perfection. Our talented hair and make-up teams — Pro Makeup Durban, KAMU, and Headspace — worked their magic behind the scenes and on the runway, creating stunning looks that perfectly complemented the showcase. And no bridal look is complete without a gorgeous bouquet, and these were supplied by Muirheads Hiring, The Floral Team, Labola and Spotted Owl.
Capturing every special moment were Stephen Michael, who delighted guests with an interactive photo booth experience, and Rozane from Pose-A-Rosey Photography, whose tireless efforts documenting the day ensured that every smile, conversation, and magical moment was beautifully preserved. Aloe Film Co expertly captured key moments throughout the showcase and produced a highlight reel that perfectly reflects the spirit and energy of the day.
The fashion show: A runway of bridal inspiration
One of the most anticipated highlights of the day was undoubtedly our fashion show.
The runway came alive with a breathtaking collection of bridal designs from A'mour Bridal and Meliza Mary Bridal, showcasing a beautiful variety of styles to suit every bride's vision, with elegant veils supplied by Veil Atelier. From timeless elegance and sophisticated silhouettes to contemporary designs and romantic details, the collections offered endless inspiration for couples planning their big day. The grooms were not left out of this showcase, with a stylish range of suits from Suit Up Suit Hire, offering some on-trend style cues.
Guided by the charismatic DJ Jay from Simple Music Solutions, who kept the audience entertained throughout the showcase, the fashion show once again proved to be a standout feature of Love on the Lawn.
Bigger prizes, more spoils, more joy!
If there was one thing guests quickly discovered, it was that Love on the Lawn 2026 was packed with opportunities to win.
This year featured the largest collection of prizes, giveaways, and vouchers we have ever offered, making it our most rewarding showcase to date. Couples were treated to an incredible selection of discounts, special offers, and prize opportunities generously sponsored by our exhibitors. From valuable wedding planning savings to exciting experiences and exclusive services, the spoils added an extra layer of excitement to an already unforgettable day.
The smiles, cheers, and celebrations during the prize announcements were a clear indication of just how much joy these generous contributions brought to our guests.
And for the biggest prize of the day saw Monique Matthysen winning Sweethome as her Wedding Venue! Congrats again, Monique!
