Glitter & Giddy-Up: The 2025/2026 Marriage Meander Magazine Launch — Disco Rodeo Edition

Highlights from our book launch held on 11 November 2025
On Tuesday 11 November 2025, under a stretch tent canopy of twinkling lights and the lively hum of country music, we gathered at Mission House to celebrate the launch of the 2025/2026 edition of the Marriage Meander magazine.
This year's Disco Rodeo book launch theme blended glitzy disco glamour with rustic cowboy charm, creating a playful fusion of sparkle, fun, and country warmth. Mirror balls met leather, and bright pink blooms contrasted with denim, and lots of fringe! Marriage Meander vendors were treated to a lively atmosphere and an evening of great food, fabulous music and lively conversation.
Why print still sparkles in a digital world
In a world dominated by screens and instant content, print is far from lost. In fact, in our humble opinion, we believe that — when done right — print has become even more meaningful.
The Marriage Meander magazine remains a tangible treasure, offering couples and creatives something they can hold, keep, and revisit.
Its pages slow us down, invite reflection, and celebrate artistry in a way that digital media can’t replicate. For many, this little wedding planning magazine is not just information — it’s inspiration, connection, and a little bit of magic bound in print.
Setting the scene at Mission House
Nestled in the rolling hills of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, one of the newest wedding venues to join the Marriage Meander portfolio, Mission House just outside of Howick, provided a dreamy backdrop for our fabulously fun book launch shenanigans.
In front of the stylish red-brick guesthouse overlooking lush green farm paddocks, we erected a stretch tent on a large concrete slab, which provided the perfect base for our evening gathering.
Design & décor that dazzled
It no longer surprises Marriage Meander clients when Jacqui Neumann, owner and publisher of the magazine, chooses a crazy theme for the book launch and invites guests to dress up! 😉
Decor and floral design by the Labola team nailed the brief on every level: bright pink blooms, disco mirror balls nestled in swags of pampas, and sweet little touches like baskets of cosy blankets for the chilly night air all added to a sense of rustic sophistication. Additional decor, lighting and furniture, installed by Muirheads Hiring, added a level of comfort, just the right amount of shimmer and made the space feel warm and inviting.
A generous shout-out to Midlands Stretch Tents whose tent framed the event in style, and gave us the added confidence of weather-proofing our event ahead of the predicted storm, which (fortunately!) didn't hit us.
Food, drink & sweet moments
No launch party is complete without delicious bites and drinks — and Hamblins Catering truly delivered. Guests were treated to a sophisticated yet satisfying menu, from delectable cheese boards to soul-warming stews, there were plenty nods of approval and hat dips from all. The country fare was truly elevated for a celebratory night.
Some sweet touches were added by The Cake House PMB, whose cupcakes were little works of art — decorated with glittered frosting and mini Stetsons, all tying elegantly into the Disco Rodeo motif.
For refreshments, we clinked glasses over welcome drinks by Sugar Baron Craft Distillery, whose signature craft cocktails added a refined yet playful touch. Meanwhile, Thistle Midlands Bar Services ran our mobile bar, keeping the vibe lively and guest spirits high all evening.
The soundtrack to our rodeo
When you’re blending disco with rodeo, the right music matters — and we were definitely spoiled for choice. Heine Klopper from DJ-K spun a set that had everyone swaying and clicking their heels, while live performances by accomplished and charismatic singer-songwriter, Rene Tshiakanyi added umatched energy during the first part of the evening and really set the tone for an interactive night.
Capturing the magic
Moments from the night were captured in stunning detail by Elysian Photography. Alida's shots — from wide-angle tent scenes to close-up portraits — immortalised the shimmer, laughter, and energy of the evening.
For a timeless contrast, Stephen Michael took beautiful black & white photos, resulting in classic and timeless portraits, in contrast to the event’s dazzling colour.

Celebrating the launch
This launch event was more than just a party; it was a celebration of the creativity, heart, and spirit of the Marriage Meander community. As we saw the first copies of the new 2025/2026 magazine — fresh off the press, courtesy of Colour Display Print — in the hands of the clients that we represent through the portfolio, we felt gratitude for every hand that helped bring this vision to life.
During speeches, Jacqui honoured her trusty book designers, Karen from Tiara Creative and Lara from Aurora Designs, for the months of unseen work and creativity that are the backbone of this legendary little publication.
To everyone who joined us, danced under the disco ball, and turned the evening into something unforgettable: thank you. Your energy, your smiles, and your support made this launch truly shine.
Here’s to another year of inspiration, connection, and beautiful weddings. The Disco Rodeo may have ended, but the momentum is just beginning.
